Being an FAer: Product Owners 👩💻
In FA, each development team has a dedicated Product Owner managing the applications the development team is responsible for. Product Owners act as primary liaisons for their applications and make sure their part of the FA Platform responds to client needs with high quality and usability.
Product Owners determine the overall vision for their applications together with Product Management. Their main responsibilities include discovering solutions to client needs, managing and prioritizing the product backlog, and deciding which features their applications will have. In addition, Product Owners are responsible for documenting and communicating changes in their applications, for example, through release notes and webinars.
Today we want to introduce you to the latest addition to our bunch of awesome product owners: Sanna.
“Hi, my name is Sanna. I have worked as a Product Owner in the Vanguard team (one of FA’s sub-teams in the product team) since April. So far, I’ve been working mainly in the Helsinki office, and I’m planning to do that also in the future. After the last years, I miss social contacts.
Before FA, I worked in Samlink as a Product Manager of Investment and Savings Products. Prior to that, I had long employment, which included working in FIM, Glitnir, and finally S-Bank. I’ve been working in the financial sector, both in business and on the development side, so I know both sides of the story.
I have two sons. We live in Jätkäsaari, so the distance to the Helsinki office is quite short, and I either walk or cycle to the office. In my free time, I like tasty food, different sports, and traveling. With kids, I spend a lot of time on football fields.
My experience with FA and its employees has so far been very positive, and I have felt welcome. I’m looking forward to getting more familiar with the product and processes, and especially to being involved in developing the product. I hope my experience on the business side will help FA to develop even a more user-friendly solution.”
